These are two objects from my own collection..The rounded one is a needle case, but I am unsure what the other one was for.
Mary has a bodkin case in her collection and I am thinking about making something of a similar ilk…
The top item is a cigar or cheroot holder case which would have been owned by a male in the late Victorian era or early part of the 20th century. It would have once held a cheroot holder, often made from tortoiseshell or early plastics. I am fascinated by these objects myself and they could easily double as a needle case or holder for other small or secret items.
